Week of 2/5-2/9

Good afternoon! Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

Here is some important upcoming events/announcements:

1. Reading Logs: January Reading Logs were due last week. Please have your child turn it in if they have not! New February Logs should be inside your child's Bobcat Binder.

2. Adopt A Classroom: A letter came home in Thursday Folders, but just to reiterate, we have adopted a 2nd grade classroom in Texas. This class was affected by the hurricane and lost everything. We are asking for monetary donations to buy each child in the class a Walmart gift card so they can buy what they need to get back on their feet. We also are sponsoring one child in the class named Humberto. Any school supplies, toys, or clothing (especially jackets) are appreciated for him! Please send in donations to me and I will pass them on to Amy Calhoun so we can send them down to Texas. We will be collecting donations through the 15th. Thank you so much for you kindness! Attached is the letter that went home in the weekly email.

3. Valentines Day: For Valentines Day, we will have a small celebration at the end of the day on the 14th. The kids will be able to exchange valentines and enjoy a small treat. I would love that the kids design and bring in a valentines box/bag to collect their cards. We have 26 kids in our class. A roster was sent via email.

4. Skate City: A permission slip for out Forces and Motion Skate City trip on Wednesday the 21st went home in Thursday Folders. Pleas fill out the permission slip and lunch order (if needed) and return it to school this week. Your child may bring their own disposable lunch and water bottle. More details will be emailed out when we get closer to the date of our trip. The fee includes the bus fee, skate rentals, and the class. If you are chaperoning, please arrive at school no later than 9:15. We will be loading the busses at 9:30. Please pay for your child through the parent portal.
