Week of 1/16-1/19

Good afternoon!

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend!

Few things:

1. There will be a spelling list this week. The test will be on Friday. Please expect a new list to come home in your child's Bobcat Binder tomorrow. Since it is a short week, we will not be getting through all of Superkids Unit 6. This week's list will consist of review words from spelling patterns we have already covered.

2. Reading logs for January will be due at the end of the month! Please ensure that your child is filling it out when they do their 20 minutes of nightly reading. As a reminder, nightly reading can consist of your child reading independently, you reading to or with your child, and sigh word practice.

3. Sight word books need to remain in your child's Bobcat Binder. Students that misplace their books have to use their Bobcat Bucks to buy a new one. I am not doing this to be mean, I just want to encourage accountability! We are really working on this as a class. Organization and responsibility will continue to be very important to

your child's success, especially in 3rd grade!

4. We will have Library this Friday, so please send back library books this week on Friday.

5. Lastly, a note for our new friends that have just joined us, please ensure you are checking your child's Bobcat Binder nightly for homework assignments. I assign homework nightly, except for the weekends. Expect your kiddo to have either spelling, reading, math, and/or Superkids Backpack Pages/readings nightly. Completing homework is an expectation and it is due the next day in class unless specified. If it is not turned in, I can not grade it and your child will be expected to make up the assignment during their Brain Break so I can ensure they are understanding the material. Thank you! P.S. If anyone has a few hot wheels cars, super balls, bubbles, or spinning tops they would like to donate for our Forces and Motion Lab coming up, that would be very appreciated!
