Valentines Day and other Upcoming Events!

Good afternoon!

I hope everyone is enjoying this sunny Sunday! Few things coming up: We will be having an electronic Friday this coming Friday the 3rd. The class earned 100 paw points from good behavior in specials throughout the year and they voted to bring in their devices for an afternoon of gaming fun. If you are not comfortable sending in a device with your child, I will have iPads and Chrome books available for the kids to use as well. Valentines Day is fast approaching and this year all the teachers decided to choose an EA, support staff member, or a member from the janitorial staff to create a "Share the Love" care package to show our appreciation. We chose Mrs. Van, our lovely music teacher! The sign up genius is below to sign up for our Valentines Day party and to bring in something for Mrs. Van. Her favorite things are listed in the sign up. We will put all the items together in a basket for her. Our party with be on Tuesday, February 14th from 3:15-4:00. Kids can exchange Valentines cards and we will have a small treat. Your child will need to bring in a Valentines box/bag to collect their valentines in. A reminder will be sent out to bring in their Valentines box on the 14th. Lastly, for part of our Forces and Motion science unit, we will be competing in an 'egg drop' experiment with Mrs. Gieger's class! The kids will be given the challenge of designing/creating a contraption that will protect an egg from being dropped from the roof of the school. Any materials are allowed! We encourage the kids to use recycled materials to go along with our vision of being environmentally sustainable and earth conscious :-) Feel free to start sending in materials with you kiddos this week so we can start collecting and planning! I will be discussing more details with the kids this week. Construction on the egg drop contraptions will most likely begin in a few weeks. Just a head up!
